ACCESS Support Unit
Essex County Council hosts the ACCESS Support Unit (ASU) which provides the day-to-day support for running the ACCESS Pool and has responsibility for programme management, governance, contract management, client relationships, administration and technical support services to the eleven administering authorities constituting the ACCESS LGPS Pool.

Kevin McDonald – Director
Kevin McDonald leads the ACCESS Support Unit. His role is to lead the ASU in supporting the Joint Committee, Officer Working Group and Section 151 Officers.
Richard Smith – Contracts Manager
Alistair Coyle – Client Manager
Alistair Coyle has experience in Corporate and Local Government Pension Schemes. He has previously worked in client relations, focusing on launching funds across a wide-range of asset classes, running transitions, manager searches and project management.
Sallie Wilson – Pool Analyst
Sallie Wilson joined the ASU in 2021 and supports the ASU Programme Director, Contracts Manager, Client Manager and Technical Leads. Her main role is ensuring the Business Plan, and Budget are managed to hit the designated timescales, as well as supporting the ACCESS Support Officers.
Dawn Butler – Support Officer
Dawn Butler provides the administration support to the ASU Programme Director, Contracts Manager, Client Manager and Technical Leads including the organisation and co-ordination of meetings, providing technical support and a wide range of administrative support. Dawn has previously worked in senior project management and governance roles in the private sector financial services arena.
Isaac McHugh – Support Officer
Isaac McHugh has worked in Local Government for over a decade, with roles ranging from supporting Social Care meetings to Finance & Accountancy roles predominantly involving Economic Growth and Sector Development. As part of the ASU, Isaac supports the Contract Manager and Local Authorities within ACCESS.
Rawda Ali – Support Officer
Rawda has a distinguishing background in education with experience in residential management and the financial sector. she provides support to the ACCESS team, technical leads and Local Authorities.
Technical Leads
The Technical leads are part time virtual roles from within the ACCESS Pension Funds which makes best use of Officers skills and expertise, to benefit the ACCESS Pool.
