The ACCESS Support Unit is looking to recruit a new Contracts Manager to join our specialist team. Working initially with the current post holder, you will help shape the next stage of our pool’s development on behalf of the 11 Local Government Pension Scheme Authorities that have come together as ACCESS.
About the role:
Participate in and provide leadership support to the commercial aspects of the development and fulfilment of ACCESS contracts and other related contract requirements, within the strategic guidance provided.
To be responsible for the successful day-to-day performance and management of the multi-million-pound contract on behalf of the participating ACCESS Funds, including taking a lead in understanding problems, finding solutions and driving to agreement, and to have responsibility for the oversight and delivery of other ACCESS procurements and contracts.
ACCESS needs to appoint a Contract Manager to oversee the effective and efficient performance of suppliers to achieve the ACCESS objectives, working within the overall client contract management governance structure.
- A hands-on delivery-focussed Contract Manager with excellent relationship and project management skills, as well as strong dispute resolution skills,
- to work with and on behalf of the 11 underlying Funds,
- with experience and understanding of the commercial and regulatory investment and operating framework, together with the LGPS democratic, operational and regulatory requirements.
About you:
You’ll be either a member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS), a member of the International Association of Contract and Commercial Management (IACCM) or have similar strong experience. With clear communication skills, you’ll be able to handle relationships across all levels, influencing and negotiating confidently. You’ll have a solution-focussed approach to problem solving and can write and present complex information clearly. Previous experience should include complex contract management, evaluation of supplier performance, Public Sector procurement and contract law. Ideally, you will have a public sector /local government background and familiarity with financial services and investment management.
